A few years ago I participated in National Novel Writing Month and found it a challenging and exhilarating experience.  I ‘won’, completing 50,000 words of a very, very, very rough draft.  That opened up new vistas and led me to spending more time doing what I love, which is writing.

I thought about doing a new novel (I’ve got a few ideas) but the truth is a) I should finish the novel that is thiiiiiiiis cloTC in the Redwoodsse to being ready to seend out to agents, and  b) work on my poetry collection, From Ashes to Ecstasy.  A friend of a friend on my FB feed is doing a poem a day for November, and I love, love, love this idea!  Here’s hoping it will keep me inspired and in touch with my most poetic self.

Nov. 1 (yes, this was yesterday, I’ll post today’s later on):

Standing on the edge of destiny, I have been standing with back to the edge of the abyss, the awareness of the vastness behind my back giving rise to stupefying fear. Today I turn around and face the abyss. Take control of my life. Start building a bridge to span the fear to start walking the path I was born to walk. Today I move into Love.
